Where did they come from ???

Jordan and Jeremy are so much alike in so many ways. Erica just posted about how she found Jordan's signature on her keyboard and I just had to share the signature that Jeremy left me next to the fireplace right after we had moved in almost 5 years ago. Who needs paper when you have a smooth surface? Love these boys!!!

School Fundraiser

Thank you to everyone that donated to the school fundraiser. The kids had a great time participating in the jog-a-thon and Brady even got involved! Every time they ran a lap they had their hand stamped. From the pictures you can see they put all their effort into it. It was a great success. We really appreciate all the support. Here are some pictures from the event as promised...

Fall is coming

Today we took the kids for a hike up to Lake Catherine in Little Cottonwood Canyon. It was the perfect day...sunshine hiding occasionally behind clouds with 50 degree temperatures.

We stopped for lunch at the top and let the kids explore. They never complained about getting tired even though Brady fell asleep on Jared's shoulders on the way back down. There was so much to see with the leaves changing colors to deer and hawks overhead.

Crazy to think we were really only about 10 miles from home.

Through a child's eye

Just a thought...

As my children enter the older grades, it often breaks my heart to start seeing their insecurities come out. It is interesting to see who and what become important to them. I realize just how sweet and cruel some kids can be and how often a child can be misunderstood and put down.

As the mom, I want to step in and take care of it for them. But I have to have faith that this is all part of the learning and growing process.

Willow Canyon Elementary

Tonight I added information to my blog about the fundraiser that Jeremy & Hailey will be involved with at the elementary school that they attend. This is probably the one event during the year that makes me hesitate before participating. But of course, the kids are all fired up and it does go to a good cause, so I jump right in.

Willow Canyon Elementary is dear to my heart because it is the same elementary school that I went to some.... um ... many years ago. Some of the teachers that taught me and my brothers and sisters are now teaching my kids. It's a great school with a lot of talented teachers!

A Day to Remember

The memories come flooding back to that day that I will never forget. I pulled out these pictures of the first time we took Jeremy & Hailey to the Healing Field back in 2003.

"Time is passing. Yet, for the United States of America, there will be no forgetting September the 11th. We will remember every rescuer who died in honor. We will remember every family that lives in grief. We will remember the fire and ash, the last phone calls, the funerals of the children."

Skyline Football

We went to my nephew's football game last night. Jeff is a starter on the Skyline Varsity Football team wearing #22. He is AWESOME! They played hard and looked great, but in the end (in the last 3 minutes) had a heartbreaking loss against Highland. I have not been to a more exciting/emotional game in a long time.

But you don't have to take my word for it... Check out this ABC4 video clip to see him score a touchdown against Bingham.

Like I said, he is AWESOME! We love you Jeff!!!
