As you read this post, keep in mind that I grew up in a very organized home. My mother is amazing. With 6 kids, she kept control of our life and our home. One if my favorite "extreme" stories, is when I was in Kindergarten, we took a family vacation to Hawaii with my mom's family. She had me, Jessica and Erica at the time. Routine was so important to her that she was willing to put us to bed at 5:00 pm and wake us up at 4:00 am to keep us on the same sleep cycle. Hawaii is 4 hours behind us! We would walk the beach and just hang out until everyone else woke up. But according to her story, we were much more pleasant because of that extra effort.

Back to present day... I am not nearly as patient and willing to give up sleep as my mom. There has been a lot of chaos and very little routine in this house. Everyday it seems to get better and better. This morning was a little less chaotic because I chose to stay up late to make sure that all the pieces of our church outfits had been unpacked and found. Cory actually made it to bed before 9:00 tonight. Huge accomplishment!!!

I appreciate the example of my mom and those around me that have found that peace in their life through organization and routine whether they have children or not.
